Other locations

Apart from the permanent court premises of the Court of Appeal, court sittings are held in locations found practical or necessary on the basis of the subject matter of the dispute, the participants' situation, etc. Meeting rooms in hotels, guest houses, town halls or other assembly buildings are often used.

In Nord-Trøndelag, the courtrooms of the local district courts are used if possible. In exceptional cases, the Court may sit in private homes (in connection with inspections), or in hospitals or other institutions.

The Court of Appeal may also hold court sittings outside its circuit (area of jurisdiction) when there are special reasons for this.
