Welcome to Frostating

Frostating Court of Appeal (lagmannsrett) is one of six courts of appeal in Norway. It is staffed by 18 judges, a head of administration, and 10 executive officers. The court is based in Trondheim.

The court re-examines decisions from the district courts (tingrettene) and the land consolidation courts (jordskifterettene) in the counties of Møre og Romsdal, Sør-Trøndelag and Nord-Trøndelag. The Court of Appeal's decisions can be brought before the Supreme Court (Høyesterett).

The Court of Appeal offers mediation in disputes. In mediation, the courts help the parties to reach an amicable solution in the case.
